Old and New Lace

D&G Fall 09

The most recent Teen Vogue featured this D&G blouse which reminded me of a dress from the movie Factory Girl. Also, note that Emma Watson is wearing a mini crini! ^.^

Lace dress from the movie Factory Girl.

Bonjour!
The latest Teen Vogue jogged my memory of a chic vintage looking dress from Factory Girl. The movie was wonderful, by the way. It starred Sienna Miller as Edie Sedgewick and the wardrobe was phenomenal. You better appreciate how much hunting I had to do in order to find my original inspiration. A local boutique in Los Feliz had a top that looked strikingly similiar but the website, unfortunately, does not provide a picture. Here is the link anyway http://ooushop.com/shop.html

Arthur Rackham Wonderland

Bonjour!
I just could not resist doing a post on my favourite artist, Arthur Rackham. The clothes are so whimsical and scream fairytale! They make a girl envy Cinderella.

Through the Looking Glasses

These are the glasses you receive for free if you join the army. Perhaps wayfarers were inspired by these?

Ralph Lauren "Annie" glasses. I have a hunch that these are going to be pretty big.

I really love Atticus Finch's glasses...not to mention Gregory Peck wearing them.

MY NEW SPECS!!!! A much needed improvement from my previous pair.

Me, sporting a new dress from Goodwill. All it needs now is shoulder pads and it will be PERFECT!

Bonjour!
Please forgive me for not posting in a week! I have been rather busy, what with the commencement of summer school and all. Believe me I would much rather be blogging then getting credits out of the way. Anywho, as you have probably noticed I got new glasses! YAY! After a tragic trampolining accident my old ones became crippled hence the new ones. I can't say I'm sorry.

Bonjour!
Who would have guessed that my Dad used to be a somewhat decent fashion photographer!!!? Certainly not me. He's been ranting about it for quite some time now, but I always just let it go with a, "sure, of COURSE you were..." Alas, I have cold hard evidence and am feeling rather guilty. Perhaps he was (GOD FORBID) right? Anyway, I found these pictures and just love the whole 80s European fashion scene.

Big Hats and Sofa Jumping

This is me jumping around in my new American Apparel dress,Jean-Michael Cazabat shoes, and my favourite handbag. Oh, and although you can't see it, my Tiffany's gold heart locket.

My over-sized cardigan is courtesy of Goodwill, and I must say, it is sooo cozy! My yellow gellies are from Urban Outfitters, the denim skirt is Mui Mui, but being the sinner that I am, I cut it shorter, and my lovely floppy hat is from Forever21.

LOOK! JUST LOOK AT THOSE MARVELOUS PANTS! I think I'm in love. They too are from Goodwill...the person who gave them up is insane!!! The shirt is American Apparel.

My Minnie Mouse "shirt" is another one of my Goodwill findings. I actually found it in the childrens section and am assuming that it was once a dress for a toddler. My riding pants are from my relatives in England, my bow tie is from a swap meet, and my saddle shoes are from a school uniform store.

Bonjour!
As you've probably guessed I have recently raided Goodwill. This is a first for me but certainly not a last. Let's just say my friends were more then skeptical when they saw me sporting my bright green golf pants, but don't worry, I soon won them over.

Bow Ties!

BOW TIES! Yes, that's right! They make great hair accessories and are so affordable! I bought mine at a swap meet the other day for $4.

P.S. I find they work best with big hair.

Heart Shaped Sunglasses!

Bonjour!
These are the only pair of sunglasses I own and, quite frankly, the only pair I need. How can you not adore them? I'm pleased to announce that Topshop (http://www.topshop.com/webapp/wcs/stores/servlet/ProductDisplay?beginIndex=0&viewAllFlag=&catalogId=19551&storeId=12556&categoryId=166003&parent_category_rn=166002&productId=1234264&langId=-1), Moschino (http://fashiontribes.typepad.com/main/2006/01/wear_your_heart.html), and Forever21(http://www.forever21.com/product.asp?catalog_name=FOREVER21&category_name=acc_sunglasses&product_id=1056912488&Page=all) have all caught onto the trend. Forget ray-bans, these are SO much cuter!

Motels and Joshua Trees

The top is from Topshop in NYC and the skirt is from Forevr21

The dress is from a street vendor in Mexico, the belt is stolen from my mother, and the bag is from when I was 4 so I have NO idea where it comes from.

The dress is from Topshop, the shoes are from the Nike store, and the sunglasses are from the Sunset Junction street fair.

The dress is, again, from Topshop (just went there so these are my wares lol), and the jacket was a present.

The skirt was also a present!

Bonjour!
I just got back from my dad's house and it was BOILING! Despite the heat I still managed to have a blast. Excuse my lack of shoes...i forgot to pack them. Have a brilliant Summer!
